Through study, discussion and prayer, the Bible Study Programs help us to deepen our spiritual lives by listening to the voice of God through the words of Scripture. Three sessions are offered: Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and Tuesday evenings in-person from 7:15 p.m. until 8:30 p.m, and Tuesday evenings Zoom from 7:15 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. All sessions are open to Saint James parishioners, 18 years and older, and to adults from surrounding Catholic parishes. All programs are offered in accord with the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church.
The Bible and the Church Fathers will teach you everything you need to know about how the Bible took form. You’ll learn powerful tools for reading it, you’ll understand Scripture’s relationship to Tradition and, in particular, to the sacraments. Hosted by Matthew Leonard, this program highlights a period in our Church's history that we haven't covered before. The program illustrates the powerful effect of Scripture on the Church Fathers, how their love of Scripture transformed their lives, and how their experiences are relevant to us today.
